There are those who will stifle a person’s creativity to the point that when it has been beaten out of them, they then complain that the artist has given up on life, that they should just admit that they have no value and become a drone, an automaton, serving only the capitalist gain of supply and demand in the consumable.

It never ceases to amaze just how animation can make you appreciate all that you may have once feared, how it can illuminate a moment into clarity in such a way that its more artistically speaking and human face can ever think of achieving.

Cast: Jennifer Lawrence, Javier Bardem, Ed Harris, Michelle Pfeiffer, Brian Gleeson, Domhnall Gleeson, Stephen McHattie, Kristen Wiig.

It really isn’t saying a lot about a film when you start thinking to yourself as you reflect and muse upon what you have seen, that you ponder that at least it wasn’t as bad as Noah. The story of creation told in a very modern way, in an approach that actually makes more sense for those who might have found something far better to attend than religious studies on a Monday morning, or even those to whom the imagination runs a lot deeper than what we are persuaded to do when considering passages from the Bible.

Despicable Me 3, Film Review.

Cast: Steve Carell, Kristen Wiig, Trey Parker, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, Nev Scharrel, Pierre Coffin, Steve Coogan, Julie Andrews, Jenny Slate, Michael Beattie, Andy Nyman, Adrian Ciscato, Brian T. Delaney, Katia Saponenko.

Not quite so Gru-some but still very enjoyable with overtones of brilliance; for the lovers of Despicable Me, this third outing of a villain turned hero, his adopted children and arguably one very special group of comedic sidekicks in the history of animation, is still of such quality that the whole family can go along to the cinema and come out with everybody happy and content.

There are some films that get released that you can’t help but admire the spirit in which they were released, the sheer striking sense of inadequacy that they impose on the thought processes and the feeling of the damaging voyeuristic intent in which they serve up the drama.
