Even now there are few female stars that could hold a candle to the extraordinary all-round performer Judy Garland. A woman who was possibly the epitome of the saying of being born into show business as a famous old trunk in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, could attest if it could talk. She would become the ultimate star of screen as she made hearts melt in film roles such Love Finds Andy Hardy, Strike Up The Band, For Me and My Gal, Meet Me in St. Louis and of course as the young Dorothy Gale in The Wizard of Oz.

The White Stripes, Elephant. 10th Anniversary Retrospective.

The distinctive and dramatic style of The White Stripes was probably captured at its very best on the 2003 album Elephant. Full of damning  humour, musical trickery, agitated fidgetiness, dirty bass lines and a band at their creative peak, Elephant stands out as one of the real highlights of 2003, a moment where the rock rule book was not just taken to task but publicly admonished, berated in front of its peers and finally told to get a life.  Dedicated to the death of the sweetheart, the music is all consuming and leaves the listener breathless, as all good sweethearts should.

She has numerous credits to her name, her first television appearance in Children’s Ward at the age of 13 led onto other  television roles. Scotty Road-The Musical, Theatre Review. Unity Theatre, Liverpool.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

Scotland Road is one of the most iconic and celebrated roads in Liverpool, it has been home to a community who have looked at its heyday with a certain fondness and others have looked at it with begrudging respect that it held so many people together despite any backlash from other areas that ran it down. People have lived there; worked there and grown up there, it is only right that eventually a musical would be based on Scotty Road.
