Star Trek: Strange New Worlds – Series Two. Television Review.

To view a series with the foreknowledge of what may happen to many of the characters in the future is one that in most circumstances would arguably lead to viewer apathy, the storyline hoped for always standing in the shadows of the decline and death of a main player just so that they can feel the emotion of loss and excitement.

It is only when you re-immerse yourself back into the realm of previous encounters that you witness just how much of it was for your benefit, the sense that the scene before you taking place was possibly scripted, that you were fooled into believing one thing, when in actual fact the opposite was the true course of action taken; it is enough to make you scream time after time, but one that is of anguished understanding rather than let down annoyance.

It is regarded as bad form to not enjoy and fall in love with an animated film, whether by the masters of the art in Disney or Pixar, or through to the dominant Japanese Studio Ghibli, or even timeless shorts created by the Warner Brothers, it is considered almost reverential to praise the genre from the highest peek when viewing a film in which thousands of hours of work have been painstakingly thought out and applied.

Rampage. Film Review.

The arcade game to which this film takes its name and part of its premise, has all but been lost to the depths of time, a classic of the back street shops that held deep fascination for those who were brought up in an era when gaming was social, your attention divided between the now retro classic, the music and infectious beat and doing your best in front of a crowded room and the urging of friends behind your shoulder to beat the score set by local and undefeated champion of the local arcade.

Logan Lucky. Film Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * *

It feels awkward to pull upon a thread which involves Channing Tatum, an actor who can spellbind an audience as Burt Gurney in Hail, Ceasar!, and show absolute aloofness and brilliant cinematic reserve when required in Foxcatcher, and yet to whom will willingly fall back to alleged type on films such as Magic Mike, Jupiter Ascending and White House Down.
