Wouldn’t we all like to be happy and carefree, to see the world through the lens of contentment and satisfaction. The world at ease is attainable, but would we, like the passive Eloi that were food for the Morlocks in The Time Machine, soon be fodder for someone else appetite, not necessarily our flesh being consumed, but our minds, our souls, being stripped of anything that was fiercely individual, being human.

The powers that be behind the Marvel Cinematic Universe should be congratulated and praised for what they have achieved by bringing more than the big hitters of their graphic novel range to the screens.

There are times when you look at a film and understand the hype that has been attached to it, that the feeling of a completed article is close at hand, and yet in the same recognised thought, you see the issues that others have labelled down and wondered if they even went into the screening with that one purpose of mind, straight forward, non-objective or stereotyped open mindedness.

Shetland, Television Review. B.B.C. Television.

Based upon the books by Ann Cleeves, the new drama vehicle for Douglas Henshall, Shetland, premiered over the last two nights and whilst it was up against I.T.V.’s superb Broadchurch, it had a lot going for it and provided another outlet for viewers starved in recent years with decent crime drama and who have been having to get their fix from either second rate thrillers from America that rely far too much on the application of science over genuine detective work, or intensely psychological brilliance from the Nordic Noir genre such as The Killing.

True Love, Adrian. Television Review. B.B.C. Television.

The final part of True Love centred on a divorced father who was willing to go the extra mile for that someone special. If Sandra, the previous episode was the weak chain in the five part series, then writer Dominic Savage pulled out all the stops to make Adrian a tour de force that really could have gone on for a lot longer than the half hour allotted to it.
