Stand Up For A New Bistro Dish, As Make It Write Bring New Comedy To The Everyman Bistro.

The Everyman Bistro is the venue for Make it Write Production’s play Stand Up.

It’s a new bitter-sweet black comedy about stand-up comic Mark, whose private life is no laughing matter. We see him spiralling ever downwards with gambling debts as loan sharks begin to bite. While Mark’s ex-wife’s new lover sneers on the side-lines from swanky suburbia.

Bernie Winston, a Pizza delivery man, who has been writing for most of his life, is now having his first play staged in a location that will give audiences the feeling of entering a comedy club.

Liverpool Sound And Vision: The Sunday Postscript, An Interview With Thom Morecroft.

Thom Morecroft may not be a Scouser but the passion he wears on his sleeve for his adopted home of the last few years is plain enough to see. His relaxed style makes swans seem fidgety and yet he has blown away audience after audience with his music and is looked upon as one of Liverpool’s great successes.  The Everyman Theatre, newly reopened hides us away as we talk about music, including his love of the Progressive giants Genesis. With a new night of music opening up and a gig to look forward to you might think Thom Morecroft had enough on his plate to deal with but music calls all the time and there is always plenty to discuss.

Liverpool Sound and Vision: The Sunday Postscript, An Interview With Alan Stocks (Part Two)

Alan Stocks is one of Liverpool’s most easily recognised actors. His time in plays as diverse as Dead Heavy Fantastic, The Flint Street Nativity, Tartuffe and Scouse Pacific has made him a firm favourite with theatre audiences.

For the last few weeks he has been in the outstanding play by Joe Ward Munrow, Held, at The Liverpool Playhouse Studio Theatre with the superb Pauline Daniels and the inspiring Ged McKenna. Alan’s performance in the production is arguably the finest of his career to date. Alan will soon be seen in the musical Mam! I’m ‘Ere! at The Dome alongside Stephen Fletcher, Eithne Browne, Drew Schofield, Helen Carter, Rachel Rae, Paul Duckworth and Keddy Sutton.
