Writing in a team can be beneficial, it can spark ideas and literary notions that might not have come into being had the specific drama or comedy not been had influx of creativity attached to it and yet at times it can feel as if the old proverb of too many cooks is not only apt, but can feel as though the resulting broth is one that completely should be taken out of the pan and never be shown to the viewer.

Johnny Vegas certainly deserves his chance to headline a major B.B.C. comedy, after all, he has provided fans of the series Still Open All Hours with plenty of laughter, and his relationship with David Jason, Kulvinder Ghir and above all Sally Lindsay, is to be admired, the transition made from stand up to small screen is seamless, even perhaps a greater virtue, one in which finally the actor can feel Home From Home.

The story never starts where you think it does; you could walk in to a narrative that is in its infancy and still find that there is a whole back story that you missed, that if you had got there ten minutes earlier then the whole complexion of the story would have been completely different, a scene missing might have seen you take another side in the argument, a stance taken. It all boils down to where you think the story actually starts and if you can live with being perhaps Once Removed from the beginning then that is something you have to live with.
