The solution that eludes some people is normally the one that sits patiently infront of them and stirs their passions without them realising. For many of a certain generation, those coming up behind them, those that should be entrusted with the flag, they see nothing new, nothing to get excited about, for in their minds they will only ever believe that their generation has the right to argue for a specific golden era to be heard, that anything that comes from the mouths of the young is either filled with X Factor wannabe celebratory or teenage angst that cannot be fathomed.

As the light began to fade and the sun was musing on its daily retirement from the sight of the people of Liverpool, one young man stood aloft on the stage and proceeded to show exactly why it is important to give the youth of the city the chance to show why they must never be taken for granted. Why they should not be decried as members of society and why at all costs they must be nurtured and given the hope and strength they need to do the jobs that we as their elders have perhaps mislaid our own purpose in fulfilling.

The one thing you can never accuse one of the finest young talents in Liverpool of doing is putting his head in the sand and hoping that whatever ails the city will soon blow over. It is an observation that can be said of all with the eternal stamp of pride that comes with being born within sight of the Mersey, the far flung Welsh hills and the knowledge what is right and wrong pumped into their veins from an early age and for Kirkdale’s Dominic Dunn this is especially true as he offers his new single Bury Your Head out to those who will not stand idly as the sound of wolves biting and slavering away at decency rattle the doors and sniff at the windows.

In Chevasse Park in Liverpool One, the first hopeful sounds of a Winter many will dread overpowers the senses, the heady aroma of Christmas is clinging in the air. The sound of children being treated by their parents to try their luck in the hope of winning an overstuffed bear or the thrill of a ride being undertaken with much glee follows suit and a cold November evening feels as biting and as forced as commemorating the end of the First World War with a supermarket advert for chocolate.

It doesn’t seem like five minutes since Dominic Dunn was hoisted upon stage at the Rodewald Suite Liverpool Philharmonic Hall and bought his music to an even wider audience. The young man from Kirkdale has been championed by one of the city’s finest in the form of Ian Prowse and no matter where he seems to be asked to perform this young 16 year old lad gives off the kind of confidence, a stark understanding of his guitar that you can only feel safe in his company.

Anna Corcoran’s voice and beautiful melodies have earned her a great accolades and plaudits for her work, especially alongside her great friend Robert Vincent and since the release of her E.P., Anything Better, the owner of that recognisable voice has just kept growing in stature and quite rightly so.

Before she took to stage at The Unity Theatre, Anna took time out from the worries of the day to music world and relaxed in the café and loosened up before her show she spoke of her new video for the outstanding single The Show, her work on the E.P. and the reasons why she still calls Liverpool her home.

For the seventh successive year, Ian Prowse stood upon the tight but much loved stage nestled in the heart of the Rodewald Suite at the Liverpool Philharmonic Hall. Armed with his guitar, a few special guest musicians and the biting wit and emotion that makes him stand out as one of Merseyside’s favourite sons, started work at tearing down the walls, the ceiling in readiness for the refurbishment that is due on the grand old lady soon with a set of music and local acerbic passion which will be hard to match during the year.
