Who Wants To Live Forever? Comes To The Unity Theatre In May.

Jazz Great Billie Holiday Forms The Soundtrack To A Story Of Love, Loss And Hope.

Writer, director, performer, poet and jazz singer Cheryl Martin is taking her Billie Holiday inspired show Who Wants to Live Forever? on tour this year, following the show’s success in Manchester last Autumn. The hour-long, one-woman show told from the heart will be performed at theatres across the U.K. including The Unity Theatre on Thursday 24 May.

A jazz fantasy about loss, love and hope, set among the stars, Who Wants To Live Forever? combines science fact, real-world psychological observation and autobiography with lots of live jazz vocals to ask why some stars shine more brightly than others, human and celestial, and why people love to watch them falling.

Take A Magical Journey To Alaska This Autumn.

Join Cheryl Martin On A Powerful Poetic Odyssey In This One Woman Show.

Writer, poet and performer Cheryl Martin is bringing her critically-acclaimed one-woman debut show Alaska to Liverpool’s Unity Theatre this autumn.

Alaska is a funny, magical trip to the moon, with singing and dancing thrown in: one woman’s extraordinary story of how she survived growing up with severe depression.

It was inspired by Cheryl Martin’s poetry collection, which was longlisted for the 2015 Polari Prize, and is being staged at the Unity Theatre, with two performances on Thursday 12th October as part of the Liverpool Mental Health Festival.
