For the most part, the idea of freedom is a fantasy, an illusion to which we cling to in the hope that our faces don’t betray our souls, that we can be spirited, up to a point, but the powers that be will never let us truly off the leash, will never allow or permit the ordinary person to be wild, to see the world as a true home rather than what has been staged for us, a place where can be absolutely Wild And Free.

The bar has been placed so high by Albert Castiglia that there is surely little room to wriggle through the space that is left, and when the bar refuses point blank to give way, to be seen as conceding even an inch in today resurgence of the well performed Blues, the only thing you can do is take a sledgehammer to it and rebuild or show it just who is in command with the biggest confident strut and musical stride and make the bar realise it hasn’t seen anything yet.

It is not the size of the dog in the fight but the size of the fight in the dog, it is the strength of character that marks out, not only genius but the willingness to carve out the furrow long after many have the trench and found their way to a comfortable place beside the fire – it takes a Big Dog to watch the other animals in the pack resign their feelings and still have the courage and tenacity to bark and growl in the night.
