90 minutes of performance with Winston Smith for a flick through George Orwell’s last novel – the book that gave readers Big Brother, Doublethink, Thoughtcrime & Room 101.  

The events aim to engage and inspire local audiences as part of the B.B.C. Novels that Shaped our World – where a panel of leading writers, curators and critics were asked to choose 100 genre-busting novels that have had an impact on our lives. 

Groundbreaking New Play Aimed At Children To Premiere At Unity Theatre.

A new play aimed at young children is set to give a delightful new twist on a traditional fairytale as well as tackle the issue of homophobic bullying by spreading a positive message about diversity and acceptance.

Created by the critically acclaimed Action Transport Theatre and LGBT Youth North West, Happily Ever After is inspired by the Dutch children’s book King and King by Linda De Haan and Stern Nijland which tells the story of two princes who fall in love and live happily ever after. The new play will be at Unity Theatre from 17-19 September.

Have you ever asked a 5-year-old what the meaning of life is? Inspired by children’s answers to life’s big questions, STATIk reminds us of the wisdom of children and what happens when one person can’t, or won’t fit in.

Not many people would look to a toddler or a teenager for the answers to life’s big questions but Ellesmere Port theatre company Action Transport Theatre set off to local schools and quizzed hundreds of children on issues that have puzzled adults for centuries. Inspired by the responses that varied from serious to straight out silly, their latest show STATIk was born and which will be performed at The Unity Theatre on 19th October.
