Mark Thomas, Theatre Review. Playhouse Theatre, Liverpool.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating * * * * *

Not even a fire alarm going off with the manner of absurd authority can challenge the influence that Mark Thomas has on his fans and followers, for a brief time the Bandstand in Williamson Square became his stage as he gave an impromptu talk on some of the laws areas would pass up and down the country if the people truly had their own manifesto. In other hands the slight turn of events could have been a painful but Mark Thomas is nothing but a man with a plan, a man who doesn’t let convention get in the way of a great radical thought and in his own way he turned a moment of audience despair into perhaps a brilliant act of dissent.

Comedians Nina Conti And Mark Thomas To Bring A Smile To The Liverpool Playhouse.

Liverpool audiences are set to be treated to two of the U.K.’s best-loved comedians this season as Nina Conti and Mark Thomas each come to the Playhouse for one night only. Mark Thomas’ 100 Acts of Minor Dissent will be on Tuesday 22nd October, with Nina Conti’s Dolly Mixtures on Saturday 26th October.

Multi-award winning comedian and B.A.F.T.A. nominated filmmaker Nina Conti brings her unique mixture of ground-breaking ventriloquism and mischievous stand-up to the Playhouse for the first time. Boasting some poignant reflections on art and the psychology of ventriloquism, the show also delves into the darker glimpses of Nina’s own psyche.
