Young Everyman Playhouse To Present A Bold Re-Telling From Greek Mythology With A Production Of Jason And The Argonauts

Liverpool Everyman & Playhouse’s award-winning Young Everyman Playhouse (YEP) will present a contemporary production of Jason and the Argonauts in the Playhouse Studio from 31st October to 3rd November.

Based on the legendary story from Greek mythology, actors from Young Everyman Playhouse take on this epic comedy in their own style.

YEP will perform in the Playhouse Studio for the first time since 2017, following their production of How to Disappear Completely (and Never be Found) last October.

Audiences are invited to join Jason and his Argonauts on a dangerous journey across the seas. Battling monstrous Minotaur and other mythical beasts, can the Jason claim the Golden Fleece and return home in time to stake his claim for the throne?

Technical support for the production is provided by YEP Technicians and with the support of Everyman & Playhouse staff.  This year, the show will also include support from Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts (LIPA), as second year students provide stage management and third year student Lisa Jones provides stage design for the production.

Chris Tomlinson, associate director of Young Everyman Playhouse, said, “People should expect a fast-paced multi-rolling production. A Greek tale of epic proportion made for the intimate setting of the Playhouse Studio.

YEP plays to its strength with an all for one and one for all ensemble mentality. A chorus that barely leaves the stage, entwined with great stories fused with wit, and a tongue-in-cheek telling of a classic Greek tale.

Expect larger than life characters, comedy voices, playful narrative, jealous gods, seemingly impossible challenges and much more, as Jason searches for the fabled Golden Fleece.”

Jason and the Argonauts is on at the Playhouse Studio from 31st October-3rd November. Tickets are on sale at: www.everymanplayhouse.com/whats-on or by calling Box Office on 0151 709 4776.
