Franki Le-Voguer’s New Comedy, The Plumbing, Comes To The Casa This June.

Vera knows too much about sex. Will doesn’t know enough. Two lifelong friends share their weird, wonderful and downright ridiculous sexual experiences over a cuppa or two. This raucous comedy ultimately asks us – how much do we really learn growing up?

Fresh from the success of taking part in Hope St. Ltd.’s On The Verge Festival last October, Bespectacled Theatre Company are back to perform this year as part of The Guide Liverpool Fringe Festival.

The Plumbing is a raunchy play which explores sex, sexuality and gender from the different perspectives of two very different friends, Vera and Will. They share their weird and wonderful sexual experiences over the course of the play resulting in lots of laughs, and a few home truths.

Through the play’s ridiculous, comical and touching stories, The Plumbing fundamentally comments on how a lack of proper sex education does not account for dealing with relationships, consent or the emotional complications of sex. This being the case for most U.K. teenagers and young adults, The Plumbing is a comedy which is as absurdly funny as it is starkly relatable.

Written by Franki Le-Voguer, viewers can expect a strong sex-positive, feminist vibe as she also performs the role of sexpert Vera. Gerard McLaughlin (Queertet, Liverpool Unearthed: The Bridewell) takes the role of shy, awkward Will, desperate to figure out his sexuality, by any means necessary. Libbie Saunders plays the role of flirty, dirty Katie, both Vera’s first lesbian encounter and Will’s erotic experimentation. And last but by no means least, Jake Szuplewski handles a variety of male roles in the piece, whilst Vera & Will recount their hilarious and absurd sex stories. The Plumbing is guaranteed to be a good giggle – we’re sure you have your own stories to tell us over a pint afterwards!

The Plumbing comes to The Casa as part of the Liverpool Fringe Festival 2018 on June 14th, 15th and 16th. Tickets are priced at £7 with concessions available at £6. Tickets available to purchase online at http://www.casatheatre.co.uk/whats-on/the-plumbing.
