March Into A Marvellous Month Of Shows At St. Helens Theatre Royal.

March is shaping up to be a marvellous month at St. Helens Theatre Royal as a huge variety of shows take to the stage this spring, promising entertainment for all ages.

With musical tributes to Michael Jackson and Liverpool’s own Cilla Black alongside That’ll Be The Day and Showaddywaddy this month will be music to your ears! That’s not to mention Vienna Festival Ballet presenting Cinderella and the RTDA returning for their third Variety Show. If that isn’t enough, the fantastic Jurassic Adventures and American Wrestling Show are sure to get you off your seat!

‘The Greatest Rock & Roll Band in the World’ is a bold statement but Showaddywaddy has lived up to that title as they recently celebrated their 40th anniversary, so come and join the ‘Dancin’ Party’ on Friday 3 March. Formed in the 1970s in Leicester from several local bands, they have sold more than 20 million records and have toured the world.

On Saturday 4 March Navi will brilliantly recreate all the magical classics from the early Jackson 5 songs to mega hits such as ‘Thriller’ and ‘Smooth Criminal’ in a show the whole family will enjoy. No.1 MJ impersonator ‘Navi’ was invited to perform at two of Michael Jackson’s birthday parties in L.A. and New York.  Michael not only applauded Navi but also gave him a standing ovation.

Vienna Festival Ballet is proud to present the classic tale of Cinderella on Sunday 5 March. One of the best-known rags-to-riches fairy tales of all time. A mistreated young girl, a glass slipper, two comical ugly step-sisters and a handsome prince combine to make the perfect piece of story-telling. The ballet will surely touch and reach out to everyone’s heart, with its combination of pure classical dancing and a touch of pantomime.

After an incredible three decades of touring, the U.K.’s No.1 Rock & Roll variety production That’ll Be The Day returns with another brand new show! This year’s production takes place on Friday 10 March and features a fresh new line-up of sensational classic gold hits, spanning the 50’s right through to the 70’s & 80’s, mixed as always, with even more hilarious comedy.

Saturday 18 March sees Cilla & the Shades of the 60s. This stunning and elegant review of the life of Cilla Black soars its way through the 60s. Starring Liverpool born singer Victoria Jones (B.B.C.’s The One & Only) as Cilla, singing songs including ‘You’re My World’ and ‘Anyone Who Had a Heart’ while the Shades trio swing through a decade of hits by Cilla’s friends and co-stars such as ‘I Only Want to Be With You’ and ‘River Deep Mountain High.

Chantelle Nolan, Theatre Manager said: “We have a whole host of great live music and variety performances this March and we are really looking forward to what will surely be some very special nights.”
