L’Orchestra Dell’Arte Launch Their 2016/17 Season At St. George’s Hall With Mezzo Soprano Guest Star Kathryn Rudge.

The spectacular L’Orchestra dell’Arte returns to St. George’s Hall this November for their third season as the venue’s orchestra in residence.

The 2016/17 season takes a distinctive new path as there will be music to illustrate The Voice and how composers have used voices in their works. The first of this series on Sunday 27th November features the stunning young mezzo-soprano Kathryn Rudge.

Conductor Edward Peak and the L’Orchestra dell’Arte began their journey three seasons ago with music to show the great genius of Mozart. Further concerts showcased those great composers who influenced Mozart himself, followed in later concerts by composers who in turn were inspired by Mozart.

In the concert on 27th November Orchestra dell’Arte and Kathryn Rudge will again return to the genius of Mozart and will be singing two of the best-known arias from the ever-popular four-act comic opera Marriage of Figaro as well as two arias from Bizet’s dramatic opera Carmen.

Kathryn is well known to Liverpool audiences and is enjoying a fantastic career as an opera singer. As a B.B.C. New Generation Artist she was nominated in the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Society Awards 2016.  As well as this Kathryn has sung as a soloist in productions at English National Opera, Glyndebourne Touring Opera, Opera North, and Garsington Opera in addition to appearing with symphony orchestras around the U.K. and also at the B.B.C. Proms.

The event will begin at 3pm offering audience members the perfect Sunday afternoon filled with music in the beautiful surrounding of St. George’s Hall Concert Room.

St. George’s Hall manager Alan Smith said, “We are eagerly anticipating the new season from our fantastic orchestra in residence. Audiences love L’Orchestra dell’Arte and we can’t wait to see what they bring us for the 2016/17 season.”
