Grease Is The Word For Talented St. Helen’s Stars Of Tomorrow.

Talented youngsters from St. Helens are encouraging wannabe T-Birds and Pink Ladies to dust off their leather jackets, pull on their bobby socks and take a trip back to the fabulous 1950s…

For three Summer Nights on the 25th – 27th of August, audiences will be able to be transported back to Rydell High for the ‘Original High School Musical.’

Featuring all of those infamous and catchy songs that you can’t help but love, the theatre guarantee syou will be hand-jiving in the aisles, craving a Twinky and singing along to We’ll Always Be Together!

The musical is presented by Royal T. Drama Academy (more commonly known as R.T.D.A.) which was formed way back in 1998 and has been putting on incredible sell-out spectaculars ever since, popular with the young and old alike.

The young people who attend R.T.D.A. say it’s not just a drama academy, it’s more like a family and that’s why R.T.D.A. attracts such a big crowd of participants and audience members!

Alicia Stroud who plays Frenchy explains, “I haven’t been at R.T.D.A. as long as some of the other cast members but they treat everyone like a family and that’s what makes the shows so special for the cast and the audience and I think that’s why people keep coming back every year.”

R.T.D.A.’s productions range from musicals to Shakespeare and recent successes have included Oliver! and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.

Lucy Moran, who plays the original ‘girl next door’ Sandy says, “This is my third show with the R.T.D.A. now and I have to say, it’s going to be the best. We have a great cast, an amazing team and the show is definitely worth the watch. See you in August!”

So don’t be a ‘drop out’ and get yourself down to The Theatre Royal, St. Helens on the 25th, 26th and 27th August! And as John Lewis who plays Doody says: ‘It’s the best thing you can do on a Summer Night!’
