X-Ray And Vav, Season 2. Web Series Review.

Liverpool Sound and Vision Rating 9/10

Cast: Ray Narvaez Jr., Gavin Free, Lindsay Jones, Barbara Dunklemen, Gray Haddock, Ryan Haywood, Michael Jones, Jessica DiCicco and Colton Dunn.

What a mess the laughable duo have got themselves into now, what another exciting and enjoyable season Rooster Teeth have given the audience and their fans to enjoy.

From the start of the first episode audiences are given a new series intro which makes anyone watching want to sing along to it. Many other new improvements aside from the theme song and intro have been added to make the web-series more enjoyable and more like an action packed cartoon that could be found on Cartoon network. The new season introduces new voices of the Rooster Teeth crew to the Web-series that are well know from the company’s other projects, Michael Jones is introduced as his alter ego warrior known as Mogar and Jessica DiCicco plays Vav’s crush and star reporter Ash. Ryan Haywood’s Mad King returns as the main villain that plots to dominate the world as well as to break up the rather non dynamic duo.

The most improved and best part of this new season is the number of episodes that are there to watch, with the first season giving audiences only four episodes, the audience now finds that they are now ten short but still action packed and filled with many excellent jokes that have so love placed into them.

The voice actors that portray these goofy, clever and evil characters certainly place their heart and soul into them and each of them give the television audiences clear dialogue that is easy to understand. Mr. Narvaez’s love for his alter ego super hero is very understandable as he may no longer be a part of Rooster Teeth but he does commit his help to the company as if he was still working for them. Mr. Free’s voice was very smooth and made the character come to life; he certainly makes it look very easy to be tongue tied and nervous when talking to girls. Michael Jones with his involvement in RWBY another one of Rooster Teeth’s projects makes him roll into his character with ease.

The plot overall does not sour, however it does not add sadly to the story and audiences have the same thing from both the Mad king and the Corporate which is voiced by Geoff Ramsey. Both characters want to rule the world and that can make it very boring and as a result the same premise can be found happening over and over again. The climax of the series was not as action packed as only Ms. Hilda Miss Jones’ character was involved in the greater part of the battle; this was no great improvement on what had been experienced at the end of the debut season.

Overall the series has made a huge impact on the World Wide Web, as many fans obviously love the characters and the theme tune. Although X-Ray and Vav may not receive as much of a fan base and interest as RWBY or Red Vs Blue, it does not leave out that despite the stupid, silly, childish behaviour audiences still love the loveable, funny, courage filled heroes that X-Ray and Vav are…wherever we are we know that if you are in trouble, help is just a phone call away.
