Royal Court Youth Theatre Presents Badfellas This Month.

The Royal Court Liverpool Youth Theatre will be performing in the main auditorium with a new show that they have devised and created with writer Maurice Bessman.

Badfellas is set in a far off land where characters from stories and fairytales spend their down time. A comedy with music and some big physical dance numbers this is a great way to showcase the talents of the next generation of Liverpool actors. Tickets are just £3 with all proceeds being reinvested in the Youth Theatre by the Royal Court Liverpool Trust.

The show was based around the ideas that the youth theatre had discussed and workshopped. Writer Maurice Bessman then took those ideas and created the script.

As well as performing all of the roles in the show, members of the Youth Theatre have been involved in every aspect of the production, including set design, costume, backstage, marketing and stage management.

When he founded Talewood, Dalton Wisley had a dream. A dream of creating a place where heroes and villains from books, films and video games could walk side by side, shop together and break bread together.

However real life isn’t like that. It’s 50 years since it was founded and Talewood is a murky place where celebrity is king. The good guys revel in their wealth and good fortune and the baddies are left fighting for the crumbs from the table. These downtrodden do-badders are left with no choice but to strike for equality but the chosen few at the top don’t want to give anything away and will do anything to hold on to their top dog status.

In a world where good people are defined by what they do and not by who they are, this is one battle of good versus evil that audiences won’t want to miss.

The Royal Court Liverpool Youth Theatre is free to join and attend and aims to introduce enthusiastic young people to all aspects of theatre. This is their second major performance following on from Starcrossed last year.

Badfellas will be at Royal Court Liverpool on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th November 2014. Tickets and information are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0870 787 1866.
