The Royal Court Theatre Announces Cast For 2014 Christmas Show.

The final names have been added to the cast for The Royal Court Christmas show and they are raring to go!

Scouse Of The Antarctic is the latest in a series of Liverpool comedies from Fred Lawless who has had great success with the likes of Scouse Pacific, Little Scouse On The Prairie and last year’s hit The Hitchhiker’s Guide To Fazakerley.

Just when everyone thought the ‘Cold War’ was over, a Russian and U.S. submarine race to the North Pole to claim the recently discovered mineral rights.  The last thing they expect to find when they get there is a Scouser with a bobble hat on and a bloody student banging on about global warming.

There are chatty horny polar bears, ratty foul-mouthed snowmen and natty dancing penguins. There are snow jokes, cold blokes, funny folks and a Yeti who just wants to be heard!

Will they blow up the Pole? Will they strangle that sodding student?  Will they make a load of rude jokes about the council? The only way to find out is to get down to the Court!

The full cast is now confirmed. Michael Starke (Bouncers, Sons Of The Desert) is joined by Royal Court favourite Lindzi Germain (Hitchhiker’s Guide To Fazakerley), Helen Carter (Slappers And Slapheads), Michael Ledwich (Ladies Night) and Court debutants John McGrellis, Michael Fletcher and Hayley Hampson. This year the show will be directed by Howard Gray.

Kevin Fearon, Chief Executive of Royal Court Liverpool, has got his bobble hat on, “The Christmas shows are always a great mix of music and jokes. Fred keeps on coming up with crazy plots and outlandish schemes for Christmas and this year is no different. We never know what to expect from the Christmas shows but we know that the audience will be laughing!”

Scouse Of The Antarctic will run from Friday 21st November 2014 to Saturday 17th January 2015. Tickets and information are available from www.royalcourtliverpool.com or on 0870 787 1866.
