First Release For Ambitious Collaboration Project As Operation Lightfoot Gets Underway.

The first single from Operation Lightfoot is available from 18th August and features Vanessa Murray as the first of twelve guest performers to feature on an exciting new recording project.

The debut single Eighteen was co-written by Vanessa and Operation Lightfoot founder Luke Moore and recorded with Jon Lawton at Crosstown Studios in Liverpool.  The song is the story of a young musician that is on the road to success and the sacrifices she may have to make along the way.

“I feel very lucky to have worked with a group of people I get along with and that are so passionate about making something great” says Vanessa. “Eighteen has been a great experience”.

Having founded Operation Lightfoot in 2013, the project’s director Luke Moore adds “It’s been great to spend a lot of this year writing and rehearsing with the acts that will feature on the album.  Eighteen is the first song from a truly inspiring team effort and I’d like to thank Rich Geraghty for his contribution in working on this debut video”.

Eighteen, and the B-side What If I Told You, is the first release from a project that will feature a range of breakthrough acts with material co-written with Silent Cities, Sophia Ben-Yousef, Mimi Amore and Frankii Phoenix already close to completion.

The first two songs are being released by Merseyside label Ultimate Fake Records and label director Rob Eakins says “We’re very excited about this release. This is the first time the label has been involved with this kind of collaborative multimedia recording project, and we’re delighted with the results.”

Operation Lightfoot will be joined by Silent Cities, Kaya and Lauren Walker to perform a newly commissioned audio-visual piece at Earth Fest in West Kirby on Saturday 13th September.  More information about the event can be found at http://whatsonwirral.com/wirral-earth-fest-2014.
