The Legion Of Doom Aim High At This Year’s Edinburgh Festival.

After 2013’s ‘smashed’ hit show Sketchpocolyse Now, Liverpool’s longest serving alternative comedy collective return to the Edinburgh Fringe with brand new sketches devised to make you laugh or curl up in a ball and cry! Join them for children’s entertainer Neil Buchanan’s unnervingly frank assessment of Edvard Munch’s The Scream, Call of Duty’s arcade reenactment of the battle of the Somme and the consequences of the Virgin Mary being pro choice. Fun for all! (Over 18’s only.)

The Legion of Doom are not three green charlatans fresh from University, gurning and squeaking their way through cheap laughs and obvious knob gags. They have an intense style that elicits either roars of laughter one minute or sweat inducing fear the next; expect a belly laugh or a bellyache! Fear and Laughter doesn’t pull any punches in its subject matter taking stabs at intelligent, high concepts and twisting them into farcical, absurdist and above all silly snapshots of modern day life. Brimming with dark undercurrents and irreverent modern cultural references, The Legion of Doom are three men determined to push sketch comedy off the cliffs of obscurity, in the hope that the resulting mess will attract a large crowd.

The Legion of Doom is one of the North West’s leading Sketch Comedy acts, having collectively worked in the field of writing and performing for close to four years. They have gained a consistent cult following from two previous runs at the Edinburgh Fringe (2013’s Sketchpocolypse Now and 2012’s Sketch Adventure) as well as numerous festivals and venues all over the U.K. including the Brighton Fringe.

In summary, they’re a little bit different. If that’s what you’re after, go and watch them.
