Alfie Boe To Perform In Liverpool As Part Of New U.K. Tour.

Alfie Boe, ‘The Nation’s Favourite Tenor’ has confirmed details of his second U.K. arena tour for November and December 2014 including a night at the Liverpool Echo Arena on Sunday 30th November.

In his 2013 tour sold out, which included two nights at London’s Royal Albert Hall, Boe played to almost 80,000 fans.

This new tour follows the news of Alfie’s new album, which is due for release on October 20th, 2014.

“Italian folk songs have been a part of my life ever since I was a kid chasing after the ice-cream van with my friends while it blasted out O Sole Mio. None of us knew what the song was. Well, I didn’t until my Dad played a version of it sung by Enrico Caruso after one Sunday Lunch. I knew it sounded familiar but couldn’t place it, all I knew was that it made me feel happy. Thanks Dad, for teaching me so much.

Since those days, I have sung many songs, but I’m always drawn back to this area of music. I think because it’s spontaneous. And the songs themselves are simple but about the biggest and best things: love, loss, journeying away, coming home, family, living life. In Italy especially, this music is just in the people, a part of everyday life. It seems to inspire people, young and old, to dance and sing together. It makes a bridge between generations. And it reminds me of sharing happy times together with family and friends. Singing these songs makes me feel a part of something good.”

Celebrating U.K. album sales of well over one million and four Top Ten albums, Alfie Boe will perform favourite classic tracks with his orchestra from all his albums – including Bridge Over Troubled Water, Granada, God Give me Strength, Maria and Nessun Dorma, as well as performed by Alfie in I.T.V.’s hit period drama Mr Selfridge, where he appeared as tenor Richard Chapman, he will sing Danny Boy and of course perform the iconic song Bring Him Home from Les Miserables, by which Boe has become a worldwide star.

Alfie Boe’s tour starts in Newcastle on 29th November and visits arenas in such cities as Glasgow, Brighton and Birmingham before finishing in Cardiff on December 13th. Special guests for the tour will be Sol3 Mio.
