The Rock ‘N’ Roll Panto Returns Home To The Everyman Theatre With Little Red Riding Hood.

The legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto will return to the Everyman this Christmas following three years at the Playhouse while the Hope Street venue has been redeveloped. This year regular writers Sarah A. Nixon and Mark Chatterton have adapted Little Red Riding Hood so expect a big bad wolf and a gallant woodsman along with the live band, plenty of belly laughs and more than a few surprises.

After three years away from its spiritual home, the rock ‘n’ roll panto is set to truly be bigger and better thanks to the technical facilities of the new Everyman. Audiences will be treated to even more flying, water and special effects than ever before, all inside the Everyman’s famous three sided auditorium. You’ll also be able to see your fellow audience members dancing and get close to the action – just beware the big bad wolf!

Everyman and Playhouse Artistic Director Gemma Bodinetz said, “Our much-loved rock ‘n’ roll panto is famous for fantastical plots, hilarious puns, dazzling singing and musicianship, all wrapped up in a magical bundle of joyous anarchy. It is as much a party as a show. We can’t wait to see it back at its birthplace, full of families and laughter, magic and fart gags.

Writers Sarah A. Nixon and Mark Chatterton said, “Rockin Red Riding Hood, the Rock and Roll panto, is bopping its way up the long and winding road to its all new, singing dancing, home at the Everyman. This time it’s Red who’s hungry like a wolf… It’s going to be big, bad, beautiful and bonkers.”

For the fourth successive year the rock ‘n’ roll panto will include an autism friendly/relaxed performance. This year’s show will be staged on Monday 12th January. There will also be a range of British Sign Language, captioned and audio described performances throughout the run.

So dig out your party pants, break out the glitter and waive your flashing wand as the legendary rock ‘n’ roll panto is back to shake, rattle and roll the Everyman rafters once more!
